As you may already know, Chartered Accountants Ireland will roll out a new IT system shortly. There will be a new website with enhanced self-service functionality for students and firms that we hope will provide you with increased control, flexibility and real-time information.
A completely new CA Diary interface will be made available through the Chartered Accountants Ireland website. The new CA Diary will provide a more modern, intuitive interface. Importantly, there are no planned changes to the existing requirements and responsibilities of trainees and mentors.
In order to prepare for the rollout of the new CA Diary, it is necessary to take the current CA Diary completely offline for a period. Please therefore note, that the current CA Diary will be inaccessible to all users (trainees, mentors and firm administrators) from 12.00pm noon on Tuesday, 11th April 2017 until our new site goes live at the end of April.
This is of particular importance to trainees who meet the eligibility conditions, and wish to submit an application for admission to membership by either 13th of April or the 26th of May 2017 (deadline for the October graduation ceremony is the 26th of May).
To minimise the impact of the CA Diary going offline, the advice is:
All trainees’ work experience records and CA Diary calendars are brought up to date
All required mentor reviews are recorded for all trainees (a minimum of one mentor review per six month block of experience is required)
All diary entries, relating to the review periods, are reviewed and locked (as appropriate)
For ease of access to CA Diary resources, please refer to the CA Diary FAQs, resources and presentations available on this webpage. As always, it is good practice for trainees to keep a backup copy of CA Diary entries, e.g. on a Word document. This practice does not negate the requirement to complete the entries and save them in the CA Diary.
Trainees who don’t know their password can request a new one through the Forgotten your password facility.
Firm Administrators and Mentors who are having access issues can request a password reminder, by using the lost password facility on the CA Diary login page.
Any queries, related to the current CA Diary, which are not covered in the available resources, can be e-mailed to email@example.com .
In advance of the rollout of the new CA Diary, information and resources -including an updated handbook -will be made available on the website. There also be wider communications about the wider aspects of the system. We apologise in advance for any inconvenience that this downtime may cause. We very much appreciate your continued co-operation and the patience of your trainees and mentors and are confident that the new system will bring many benefits.
